Shaking hands with Jennifer Knapp, every Flatfoot 56 show, listening to Rancid out of the back of a hearse for days, swing dancing, meeting one of my favorite fest photographers Megan Sontag, seeing that its ok to be counter culture and radically in love with Jesus.

What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: Last year, the last night my friend and I were the only ones of our group left. So we were hanging out with divide the sea, and the manager of blood and ink gave us free shirts because he liked my shirt. Then we through old blood and ink shirts in the crowd during august burns red. Then someone put a frog down my shirt. Good times.
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: The worship, the christian scene around here has really died off. I’m stoked to be surrounded by people to lift me up, and so mcuh more!
Meet: Candice

Name: Candice Gordon (thatthereishope.tumblr.com)
Age: 21 and 3/4.
From: the 570 of Pennsylvania.
How many times have you been to Cornerstone: 5 times, I think.
What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: The entire week of Cornerstone is a memory waiting to be relived each year. I came across something I wrote in 2009 at Cornerstone while listening to mewithoutYou as I sat on the hill and I feel it sums up my favorite moments at the festival grounds. (Memories off the grounds during the week of Cornerstone are almost just as wonderful spent with my tour family.)
“If I’m learning anything, it’s seeing how God uses people I used to not think He could use…Not to mention the unconventional ways I think God is now moving through our generation… Though we may be dirty and curse and lie and smoke and cheat and lust, we are open to what God has for us. And through that, God gets to move through songs that you can’t understand the words that are being screamed, but you can understand the passion everyone has, the craving almost, for something more. And that there is more, and it is reachable.”
If people could be my favorite memory, I’d choose them.
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: Again, people. From the years of touring with Stand True and The Love Alliance I’ve acquired quite the family of friends that stretch across the United States. Cornerstone is the central meeting ground to see everyone I haven’t seen in such a long time, as well as be introduced to many more like-minded wonderful people. The bands, are secondary, though the line-up seems pretty good this year.
I don’t have a schedule of bands yet, because my first priority will be working with the booth with Stand True. Most excited for: Psalters, My Epic, Blindside, Sleeping Giant, Take it Back, Timbre, Listener, etc, etc.
Meet: Megan

Name: Megan (pictured on the right with my friend Victoria) (cavaliereternel.tumblr.com)
Age: 20.
From: Colorado Springs, CO.
How many times have you been to Cornerstone: This is my second year!
What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: I got to meet Max Bemis from the band Say Anything last year. He was there with his wife, Sherri Dupree-Bemis from Eisley. That was amazing even if I tooootally fangirled out to a point where I could barely talk (I could’ve totally had a great conversation with him, too! “So, have you seen any bands today? This is my first Cornerstone. Blah blah blah.” Nope. Nikki/@hellowind said it was like a Make a Wish Foundation moment hahaha). In general hanging out with everyone at our campsite was the best.
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: I’ve seen Flatfoot twice this year in my hometown and I’m extra stoked to see them again, especially in this setting. I’m really excited to see everyone again and to meet even more people. Maybe some nice beardy dudes. Hey!

Age: 23
From: Eastern Arkansas/ The Memphis TN area.
How many times have you been to Cornerstone: Two. This year will be my third.
What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: Facedown Night at the Underground Stage, Cornerstone 2009. For Today, and Sleeping Giant played back to back at the very end of the evening. During For Today the Glory of God fell on the crowd and it seemed like everyone became extremely aware of it. People started spontaneously praying aloud. People were prophesying over one another. Physical healings were manifesting. It continued into Sleeping Giant’s set. People were slain in the spirit all over the place and hordes of people were in groups laying hands speaking life into one another. It was incredibly intense. The crowd felt the tangible power, and presence of Jesus.
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: Fellowship. CHILL music, haha. Seeing people that I normally only see on tour. Community. Good food.
Meet: Hanna

Name: Hanna
Age: 18
From: (near) Dallas, Texas
How many times have you been to Cornerstone: once
What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: Besides the amazing bands, crazy good coffee/frappucinos (I’ll find you again world coffee or whatever you were called), watching my youth pastor and Chad go crazy after driving 48 hours straight while chugging 5 hour energy drinks, and the rave tent? Heh. The night out by the lake with my youth group when each of us were prophesied over. Amazing.
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: Making new friends, going without an insane amount of burdens, the music, and watching people’s lives change for the better in the span of a week. I can’t wait for it to finally get here :)
Meet: Sarah Beth

Name: Sarah Beth
Age: 26
From: Originally from Iowa, now from South Georgia.
How many times have you been to Cornerstone: 2011 will be my 7th straight year.
What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: My very first Cornerstone, the group that I camped with built a bonfire our last night and burned everything we could possibly find from beach towels to a CPR mask to tarps and a sleeping bag. This came after we had burned down a tent the night before for no good reason. After the fire died down, we walked around and stayed up and watched the sunrise. It was nice end to the week (minus the fact that we may or may not have burned down a tent that did not belong to us…).
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: Band-wise, I am so excited to see Close Your Eyes. But in general, since I moved from Iowa to Georgia, Cornerstone is a time that I get to see a large portion of my friends from back home.
Schedule: http://www.cstoneschedule.com/trisarahtoops

Meet: Nikki

Name: Nikki (pictured with my friend Chris at Cornerstone. He has traveled to Cornerstone from England every summer since 2005.) (hellowind.tumblr.com)
Age: 28 (probably older than most of the people that follow this tumblr. haha!)
From: Southern Georgia!
How many times have you been to Cornerstone: This year will make year 7!
What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: I have so many memories from Cornerstone. It has been some of the best times of my life. Probably one of the best memories is going to the sketchiest tattoo shop in Macomb with my friends Sarah, Amanda and Frank. Sarah, Amanda and I got matching firefly tattoos. :) That’s just one of SO many. Oh and who can forget the time everything was shut down for the 25th anniversary and there was uproar in the dirt streets with chanting and riot-like behavior? Haha.
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: The same thing I look forward to every year: a week free of my “grown up life” responsibilities and seeing all of my close from friends from all over the country. :D Thanks to Cornerstone I’ve met a lot of people that have impacted my life in many ways. I’m excited to reconnect with everyone.
I need to update my schedule, but here it is so far: http://cstoneschedule.com/niknak
Meet: Hannah

Age: 18
From: Castle Rock, Colorado
How many times have you been to Cornerstone: this year will be my third! I went in ‘07 with a friend, and last year and this year will be with the organization Stand True.
What is a favorite Cornerstone memory: my little fourteen year old self being overwhelmed by festival culture (was my first festival!) and last year some friends and myself had lunch with Showbread. that was rad! Cornerstone is my favorite festival, out of all the ones i’ve been too, and pretty much everything about the fest resounds as a favorite memory.
What are you looking forward to about this year’s fest: seeing the ridiculous amounts of my friends that will be there this year! and setting up the ridiculously large Stand True booth. (not looking forward to cleaning off all the dust though, haha)
